Where the Brahmaputra Meets the Mississippi - 2005

A charity event featuring performances by Danza Mexica, Mankwe Ndosi, Les Gitanes and Aniccha Arts, amongst others.

Proceeds will be split jointly between PPCWC (Powderhorn Phillips Cultural Wellness Center) and SPADE (Society for Promotion of Appropriate Development Efforts) in Assam, India.

SPADE is a voluntary organization in north-east India, formed in 1994 by a group of likeminded persons to initiate and support development activities at the community level in the rural areas of Assam. Proceeds will support SPADE's Project Xarothy which aims to help promising girls who face adverse conditions. SPADE enables the continuation of these children's studies such that they can progress towards self reliance in life.

Bihu dance Darshana Bhattacharyya will present Bihu - an Assamese folk dance that celebrates the arrival of Spring
Mankwe Ndosi "Green, grey, brown, black, red, white, gold-songs from under our feet" a mono performance
Bharatnatyam Joselyn Gorham and party present a Traditional Indian classical dance
Les Gitanes William Atchouelou and his group present a contemporary French African dance
Hindi movie dance Meghna and Devika Kataky

Fragile Lines Pramila Vasudevan of Aniccha presents a dance performance
Celtic and Appalachian Music Jessica Braun-Ferris, Crystalline Ruby Muse and Kari Kjome
Mexican warrior dance Danza Mexica
Bhangra Dance Ricky Aurora and his group present a high energy folk dance from Punjab
African Dance Christian Adeti presents an African dance and drum performance
